Guide to Deck Building Part 1 Empty Guide to Deck Building Part 1

Post by Infinity Tue Jan 06, 2015 8:18 pm

First, you must understand your deck is like an engine, a machine, each card in your deck is represents the power source that keeps your engine machine running

Now naturally, you don't want that engine to run out of power right? so the most important aspect of your deck is consistency

If your deck is consistent, you will
*Likely never run out of cards in your hand
*Likely never run out of cards on the field

The reason why consistency is important, is because if your deck is not consistent this forma, fast decks like otks can take advantage of that and take you out really quick.

How do i make my deck consistent:

By using

  • search cards that allow you to add cards from your deck to your hand
  • Draw cards
  • Cards that allow you to special summon from your deck

As a side note it is important that you keep your deck to a minimum of 40 cards per build as it will help with draw power.

section 2. Support cards

When it comes to building a deck, you  always want to start with support cards first, secondly, when adding support cards you should either tech them or staple them in your deck.

What is Teching: Teching is when you add 2 copies of a certain card to your deck, when  teching, only add what you think supports the deck.

Main: when you main a card, you are adding 3 copies of a certain card to your deck, once again, you only main a card when you think it supports the deck.

For example, here are is a staple for fire fists

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fire_Formation_-_Tenken

This card is a card searcher, its considered a main because it helps keep your fire fists deck alive.

Here's a tech for fire fists
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Vanity's_Emptiness

Vanity's Emptiness is considered a tech for fire fists because it a good anti meta card, however, at the same time it does nothing to keep your deck alive which is why its not mained.

Stay tuned for part 2 of this guide, comment and tell me what you think.

Wouldn't mind you fixing punctuation and the such... But other than that, well done! Also the teching includes the word "teching" twice and doesn't make sense.
